Refund, Returns and Warranty Policy

MyTuff4x4 is a trading name of MB Mechanical Repairs Pty Ltd (ABN 86 149 871 223), Unit 13C, 4 Homepride Ave, Warwick Farm NSW 2170 ("MyTuff4x4", "we", "us", "our").

This policy works alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the ACL or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

Choosing the right part

  • Check before you order. It is your responsibility to check that a part suits your vehicle before you order: make, model, series, year, engine, and any accessories or modifications already fitted. If you are not sure, call us on (02) 8747 0325 before you buy and we will help you choose.
  • Wrong part ordered. A part ordered for the wrong vehicle, or a part you no longer need, is not faulty. It can only be returned under our change-of-mind terms below.
  • Check before you fit. Check every part against your order before you fit it. Once a part has been fitted, cut, drilled, painted or modified, it cannot be returned for change of mind.

Suspension, lift kits and GVM upgrades

  • Lift heights are approximate. The final height depends on your vehicle, the accessories fitted (such as a bull bar, winch, drawers or canopy) and the load you carry.
  • New springs settle. New springs settle a little in the first few weeks of use. This is normal and is not a fault.
  • Ride feel. Ride feel depends on the spring rates chosen for your load. A firmer or softer ride than you expected is not a fault. If you are unsure which springs suit your load, call us before you order.
  • Alignment and extra parts. A wheel alignment is needed after any suspension change. Some vehicles also need extra parts, such as castor correction, a diff drop or longer brake lines. These are not included unless they are listed in the kit.
  • Road rules, engineering and insurance. It is up to you to check that a modification is legal for your vehicle in your state or territory, to arrange any engineering certificate it needs, and to tell your insurer. Modifications can also affect your vehicle's new-car warranty. A modification not being allowed where you live is not a fault with the part.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

  • Tell us first. If an item is faulty, not as described, damaged, or we sent the wrong item, contact us on (02) 8747 0325 or info@mytuff4x4.com.au with your order number, a description of the problem and photos.
  • Tell us as soon as you can. For damage in transit or missing items, please let us know within 7 days of delivery so we can claim with the carrier. If a shipment is visibly damaged when it arrives, please refuse it or note the damage on the driver's delivery docket, and contact us. Telling us later does not remove your rights under the ACL, but it can make a carrier claim harder.
  • Keep the packaging. Keep all packaging until any damage claim has been settled.
  • Please don't fit a damaged or faulty item. Contact us before fitting, modifying or throwing away an item you believe is faulty or damaged, so it can be assessed.
  • Assessment. We may need to inspect the item, and may ask you to return it to us, or to the manufacturer, for assessment.
  • If it is confirmed faulty or incorrectly supplied, we will provide a remedy under the ACL (repair, replacement or refund, depending on the type of failure) and cover the reasonable cost of returning it to us.
  • If it is found not to be faulty (for example normal wear and tear, incorrect installation, misuse, overloading, damage caused after delivery, or a part ordered for the wrong vehicle), we will let you know, and the freight costs to and from us are your responsibility.

Manufacturer's warranty

  • Many products we sell also come with a manufacturer's warranty. For example, Dobinsons shocks and springs carry a 2-year manufacturer's warranty against defects from the date of purchase. A manufacturer's warranty is in addition to your rights under the ACL.
  • Dobinsons' own conditions apply. For example, their shock absorber warranty does not apply if the vehicle has a modified exhaust, and their springs and shocks are not covered if extra coil or strut spacers are fitted to a coilover assembly. Their warranty is for normal use only, not competition or extreme use.
  • To make a claim, contact us first with your proof of purchase. We will lodge the claim with the manufacturer and keep you updated.
  • Manufacturer warranties cover repair or replacement of the faulty part only. Labour (removing and refitting the part), wheel alignment, freight and any other costs of a warranty claim are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Where the ACL entitles you to have these costs covered (for example, for a major failure), we will meet our obligations under the ACL.
  • Manufacturer warranties generally do not cover normal wear and tear; damage from misuse, overloading, accidents, competition or extreme use; commercial, mining or agricultural use; incorrect installation; modifications; or use with incompatible parts. The manufacturer's own terms apply to each warranty, and we can give you a copy on request.

Parts fitted at our workshop

  • Fitting work done at our Warwick Farm workshop comes with the service guarantees under the ACL. If a problem is caused by our workmanship, we will put it right at no cost to you.
  • Before or during fitting, we will tell you about worn or damaged parts we find (such as CV boots, ball joints, bushes or steering components). If you choose not to have them replaced, then to the extent permitted by law we are not responsible for later failure of those parts or damage they cause.
  • If you supply your own parts for us to fit, we do not warrant those parts. If a customer-supplied part fails, the labour to remove and refit it is charged at our normal rate.
  • If parts bought from us are fitted by someone else, we are not responsible for faults caused by that installation or for the installer's labour costs, except where the ACL requires us to be.

Change-of-mind returns

We don't have to accept change-of-mind returns, but we will in these cases. These rules apply only to change-of-mind returns, not to faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied items (see above).

  • Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Please contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number before sending anything back. Returns sent without an RMA number may be refused.
  • Items must be unused, unfitted and in their original condition and packaging.
  • A 25% restocking fee is deducted from the refund. Returns that include pre-assembled items (for example, assembled struts) also incur a $165 handling fee.
  • You pay the return freight. Please send the item well packed and with tracking. A change-of-mind return is your responsibility until it reaches us.
  • Original shipping charges, including express shipping, are not refunded.
  • Payment processing fees are deducted as set out under "Payment processing fees" below.

We can't accept change-of-mind returns for:

  • gift cards or vouchers;
  • items that have been fitted, used, modified or colour-coded;
  • special-order or pre-ordered parts (see below);
  • items returned more than 14 days after delivery.

Refused or undeliverable parcels

If a parcel comes back to us because the delivery address was wrong or incomplete, nobody was available to receive it, or it was refused when it was not damaged, we can either send it again once you pay the new freight cost, or refund you less the freight both ways, the restocking fee and the payment processing fee.

Special-order and pre-ordered parts

  • Parts that are not in stock and are ordered in specially for you require full payment in advance.
  • Because they are sourced specifically for you, special-order and pre-ordered parts can't be returned, exchanged or refunded for change of mind once payment has been processed.
  • This does not affect your rights if a special-order part is faulty, damaged or not as described. Those items are handled as set out under "Faulty, damaged or incorrect items" above.

Payment processing fees

When you pay through a third-party payment provider (including Stripe, Zip, Afterpay, PayPal and card gateways), the provider charges us a transaction fee that is not returned to us when we refund. For change-of-mind returns, cancelled orders and other voluntary returns or cancellations, this fee is deducted from your refund, along with any restocking or handling fee that applies.

No payment processing fees are deducted where an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or incorrectly supplied by us.

Cancelling an order

  • Before shipping: you can cancel by contacting us with your order number. A $20 administration fee and the payment processing fee apply.
  • Pre-assembled items: if an order with pre-assembled items is cancelled after it has been assembled or packed, a $165 handling fee also applies, plus the restocking fee.
  • Special-order parts: once ordered from our supplier, these can't be cancelled for change of mind.
  • After shipping: the change-of-mind returns process above applies.
  • If we cancel your order (for example because an item is unavailable or was listed with an obvious pricing error), we will refund you in full.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect a returned item, approved refunds are processed within 5 business days to your original payment method, less any fees that apply under this policy. Your bank or payment provider may take a few more days to show the refund.
