What does change as you lift it is the geometry around the axle.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCaster\u003c\/strong\u003e rolls backwards as the front comes up, and the steering goes light and starts to wander, which is why Dobinsons call for the castor arms at 3″. The \u003cstrong\u003epanhard rod\u003c\/strong\u003e stays the same length while the axle moves up, so the axle can shift sideways under the body. \u003cstrong\u003eSway bar links\u003c\/strong\u003e run out of travel, and on a taller lift the \u003cstrong\u003etailshaft angle\u003c\/strong\u003e can bring on a vibration.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePick spring rates for the weight the vehicle carries all the time (bar, winch, rear wheel carrier, drawers).
