On an independent front end, lifting the vehicle makes the CV shafts run at a steeper angle than the factory intended. The first thing to complain is usually the \u003cstrong\u003eCV boot\u003c\/strong\u003e: it tears, the grease gets thrown out, dirt and water get in, and the joint is not far behind.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA \u003cstrong\u003ediff drop\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003efront upper control arms\u003c\/strong\u003e are what pull those angles back toward standard, and the taller the lift the more they matter.
