What does "Easy-Lift" mean? On the Easy-Lift kits the front struts come pre-assembled – shock, coil spring and new strut top mounts already put together – so the front goes in as a complete unit. They come in MRR (from $1,870), MRA (from $2,380) and Monotube (from $1,690).

Common questions

Will my Triton need a diff drop or upper control arms with a lift?
Lifting the front makes the CV shafts run at a steeper angle. A diff drop and front upper control arms are what pull those angles back toward standard, and the taller the lift the more they matter. Tell us which kit you're looking at and we'll let you know what your ute needs before you order.

What about CV boots?
Lifting the front changes the CV angle, so it's worth having the CV boots checked when the kit goes in – we check them when we fit a kit.

Is a lift OK for rego?
The rules differ by state. Ask us before you order and we'll talk you through it.

Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes – we ship anywhere in Australia, or you can collect from our Warwick Farm workshop.

Not sure which kit?
Call (02) 8747 0325 or use the chat on our site – tell us how you use the ute (towing, touring, daily) and we'll point you to the right kit.

Dobinsons MRA 3-way adjustable Easy-Lift kit

MRR or MRA — which one is this?

This one is an MRA: a monotube shock with a remote reservoir, plus three damping adjusters — high-speed compression, low-speed compression and rebound. You set it up for the way the truck is loaded and the ground you are on, and change it again when that changes. This is the current Dobinsons shock and it replaced the MRR in their range.

The MRR is the original version of the same monotube-and-reservoir design, without the adjusters. The Dobinsons family have moved on from it, but it is still being manufactured by their business partner — the people who designed and built it in the first place, and who helped the Dobinsons family develop their own shock range. We still stock it, so you can have either.

Go MRA if you tow, run varying loads, or want to dial compression and rebound in to suit the day.
Go MRR if you want the reservoir’s heat control in a set-and-forget shock.

Not sure which you are looking at? The MRA has three adjuster knobs on it. The MRR has none.

Fitted by mechanics, not just bolted on.

MyTuff4x4 is backed by MB Mechanical Repairs, a full mechanical workshop in Warwick Farm, in the trade since 2011. When we fit a lift kit we look at the whole vehicle, not just the springs and shocks: the CV angles, ball joints, bushes and steering that a lift puts extra strain on. If something is worn, or won’t suit the height you’re after, we tell you before you find out on the track.

Fitting a full kit typically runs $750–$950 in labour. A wheel alignment afterwards is $120, and on a lifted vehicle it isn’t optional.

Not in Sydney? You’re still buying from mechanics. We fit these kits in our own workshop, so if you’re unsure about load ratings, lift height or what else your car will need, call 02 8747 0325 and talk to someone who does the job.

A MRA adjustable remote reservoir suspension kit for the Mitsubishi Triton.

The MRA shocks are remote reservoir and externally adjustable — you can dial the damping by hand rather than living with whatever valving came in the box. Useful if the load in the back changes a lot between the work week and the weekend.

What's in the kit

  • 2 × Dobinsons MRA Struts Pre-Assembled with Dobinsons Coil Springs and New Strut top Mounts (Front)
  • 2 × Dobinsons Remote Reservoir Brackets (Front)
  • 2 × Dobinsons Coilover Adjusting C Spanners
  • 2 × Dobinsons MRA Shocks (Rear)
  • 2 × 2inch Extended Greasable HD Shackles

Worth knowing before you buy — CV boots

We would rather tell you this up front. On an independent front end, lifting the vehicle makes the CV shafts run at a steeper angle than the factory intended. The first thing to complain is usually the CV boot: it tears, the grease gets thrown out, dirt and water get in, and the joint is not far behind.

A diff drop and front upper control arms are what pull those angles back toward standard, and the taller the lift the more they matter. Check your boots at every service, replace one the moment it splits rather than waiting, do not wind an adjustable front any higher than you actually need, and get the alignment done properly once the springs have settled.

Supply and fit at our own workshop

We are not just an online parts shop. MyTuff4x4 runs a fully equipped mechanical workshop at 13 C/4 Homepride Ave, Warwick Farm NSW 2170, a few minutes from Liverpool in south-west Sydney. Buy the parts here and we will fit them, set the ride height and align it for you, or order and have it sent anywhere in Australia. Call 02 8747 0325 if you want to talk through spring rates for the weight you actually carry before you order.
