Delivery charges

What is Rural Delivery fee?
An estimated delivery charge will apply to customers ordering from rural areas. Prior to processing you order on checkout, an alert will appear that will advise customers to call MYTUFF4X4 to obtain an accurate cost of delivery. Please contact MYTUFF4X4 to see a list of Rural and Remote areas. Some areas may take longer due to the frequency of deliveries to the delivery Post code. Our system calculates this estimated price considering the total amount of time to process your order including: packaging, transit time to the delivery provider, and transit time to the delivery address.

When placing your order, we consider these factors when calculating the Estimated Delivery prices :

  • Post code of the nominated delivery address.
  • Transit Time: The amount of time it takes your order to leave our distribution centre and arrive at the local delivery carrier.

What additional fees may apply?
There may be circumstances that require additional payment by you if the conditions mentioned have not been met or you require special services outside of our standard delivery.

Back Orders

If an item goes on back order we will ship you the part of your order that is in stock. When the item becomes available we will ship you the rest of your order. You will not be charged any additional shipping and handling for the second shipment.

Delivery Insurance

Goods that are shipped on behalf of the client by Mytuff4x4 are not insured unless the client notifies us prior to delivery and pays for delivery insurance. Mytuff4x4 is not responsible for goods damaged in transit if insurance is not paid for by the customer prior to delivery.

Fitted by mechanics, not just bolted on.

MyTuff4x4 is backed by MB Mechanical Repairs, a full mechanical workshop in Warwick Farm, in the trade since 2011. When we fit a lift kit we look at the whole vehicle, not just the springs and shocks: the CV angles, ball joints, bushes and steering that a lift puts extra strain on. If something is worn, or won’t suit the height you’re after, we tell you before you find out on the track.

Fitting a full kit typically runs $750–$950 in labour. A wheel alignment afterwards is $120, and on a lifted vehicle it isn’t optional.

Dobinsons Monotube IMS lift kit to suit the Suzuki Jimny XL 5-door (2023 on). Dobinsons build the XL at 40mm (about 1.5″) or 75mm (3″) of lift, with different springs and shocks for each; the height is picked in the options.

A monotube runs a single tube with the oil and gas separated by a floating piston. That allows a bigger piston and much better heat rejection than a twin tube, which is what keeps the damping honest when the going gets rough.

What's in the kit

  • 2 × Dobinsons IMS monotube long-travel front shock absorbers (IMS57-50617 at 40mm, IMS57-50613 at 3″)
  • 2 × Dobinsons raised front coil springs, picked in the options (40mm: C57-170 standard, C57-172 for 40-70kg, or C57-174 for around 100kg; 3″: C57-174 standard, C57-176 for 40-70kg, or C57-164 for around 100kg)
  • 2 × Dobinsons IMS monotube long-travel rear shock absorbers (IMS57-50618 at 40mm, IMS57-50614 at 3″)
  • 2 × Dobinsons raised rear coil springs, picked in the options to suit your load (40mm: C57-171 up to 60kg, C57-173 for 70-120kg, or C57-073 for 120-250kg; 3″: C57-147 up to 60kg, or C57-105 for 80-150kg)
  • 1 × Dobinsons crossmember drop kit (WA57-580). Dobinsons say this must be fitted with every lift kit on the Jimny XL.
  • 1 × Dobinsons front and rear brake line extension kit (WA57-596K), also listed by Dobinsons as must-fit.

Front and rear caster and alignment bushes, adjustable front and rear panhard rods, a heavy duty steering damper and a headlight sensor bracket extension (LED headlight models) can all be added in the options. Dobinsons’ part numbers for these are WA57-511K (caster and rear alignment bush kit), PR57-1422 and PR57-1413 (front and rear panhard rods), SD57-838 (steering damper) and WA57-567K (headlight sensor bracket).

These parts are for the 5-door Jimny XL (2023 on). The 3-door Jimny takes different springs, and we list separate kits for it.

The part numbers above come from Dobinsons’ own fitment listing for this vehicle. We confirm every kit order with you before it ships, so the parts match your vehicle and setup.

Worth knowing before you buy

There are no CV shafts in the front of a live axle vehicle, so the usual CV boot problem does not apply here. What does change as you lift it is the geometry around the axle.

Caster rolls backwards as the front comes up, and the steering goes light and starts to wander. The panhard rod stays the same length while the axle moves up, so the axle shifts sideways under the body and the stance goes off centre. Brake lines get short, which is why the extension kit comes with this one. On the longer XL the tailshaft angle can bring on a vibration, and the rear alignment bushes are there to sort it.

Pick spring rates for the weight the vehicle carries all the time (bar, winch, roof rack, drawers). Don't count towing or the odd heavy load. Lift height is a guide only, and a wheel alignment is needed after fitting.
