Performance Engineering

Built upon the proven, race-winning Monotube Remote Reservoir (MRR) platform, Dobinsons’ new MRA Adjustable Shock Absorbers combine high-performance monotube technology with a sophisticated 3-way damping adjustment system. This advanced design transforms your 4x4 into a highly capable off-road vehicle while maintaining excellent on-road comfort and stability.

Every component of the MRA shock has been refined to improve ride quality, vehicle control, and overall shock performance.

Advanced Design Improvements

The MRA shocks incorporate several engineering upgrades, including:

• 6063 Honed Aluminium Reservoir

• Lightweight Floating Piston

• Carbon Fibre / PTFE / Disulphide Composite Wear Band

• Improved 3-Stage Sealing System

• Reduced Gas Pressure Operation via the Reservoir Compression Adjuster

These improvements significantly reduce internal friction, resulting in smoother suspension operation and enhanced damping performance.

The revised sealing system features a 3-stage FKM-HNBR shaft seal design, which, combined with lower operating friction, greatly extends service life while reducing component wear.

Built for Strength and Durability

The MRA shocks are constructed using premium materials designed for extreme off-road environments:

• Micro-polished, hard-chromed, heat-treated shock shaft

• CNC-machined aluminium high-flow race piston

• DOM seamless tubing shock body

The 3-way adjustment system reduces the workload on the main piston by distributing heat more evenly between the main piston and the reservoir piston. This lowers operating temperatures and allows for fast, easy damping adjustments.

Important Setup Notes

To ensure optimal suspension performance:

• Select springs based only on current constant loads at the front and rear of the vehicle.

• Towing loads should not be included, as they are not constant.

• Do not include occasional or temporary loads in your constant load calculation.

Choosing springs rated for loads heavier than your actual setup may result in:

• Reduced off-road flex

• Limited suspension travel

• Harsh ride quality

• Potential damage to shocks and suspension components from operating outside their intended range.

Additional Notes

• Upper Control Arms are strongly recommended when installing a 50 mm lift to achieve proper wheel alignment.

• All lift heights listed are approximate and may vary depending on vehicle accessories, weight distribution, and setup.
