Delivery charges

What is Rural Delivery fee?
An estimated delivery charge will apply to customers ordering from rural areas. Prior to processing you order on checkout, an alert will appear that will advise customers to call MYTUFF4X4 to obtain an accurate cost of delivery. Please contact MYTUFF4X4 to see a list of Rural and Remote areas. Some areas may take longer due to the frequency of deliveries to the delivery Post code. Our system calculates this estimated price considering the total amount of time to process your order including: packaging, transit time to the delivery provider, and transit time to the delivery address.

When placing your order, we consider these factors when calculating the Estimated Delivery prices :

  • Post code of the nominated delivery address.
  • Transit Time: The amount of time it takes your order to leave our distribution centre and arrive at the local delivery carrier.

What additional fees may apply?
There may be circumstances that require additional payment by you if the conditions mentioned have not been met or you require special services outside of our standard delivery.

Back Orders

If an item goes on back order we will ship you the part of your order that is in stock. When the item becomes available we will ship you the rest of your order. You will not be charged any additional shipping and handling for the second shipment.

Delivery Insurance

Goods that are shipped on behalf of the client by Mytuff4x4 are not insured unless the client notifies us prior to delivery and pays for delivery insurance. Mytuff4x4 is not responsible for goods damaged in transit if insurance is not paid for by the customer prior to delivery.

MRR or MRA — which one is this?

This one is an MRR: a monotube shock with a remote reservoir, a separate canister holding extra oil and gas away from the shock body. More oil means more heat capacity, so the damping stays consistent on long corrugated roads instead of fading. The damping is set when the shock is built — bolt it on and it works, there is nothing to adjust.

The Dobinsons family have since moved their own range away from the MRR and over to the MRA, which is the same monotube-and-reservoir design with three damping adjusters added. The MRR is still being manufactured by their business partner — the people who designed and built these shocks in the first place, and who helped the Dobinsons family develop their own shock range. That is who we buy ours from, so we can still supply the original MRR.

Go MRR if you want the reservoir’s heat control in a set-and-forget shock.
Go MRA if you tow, run varying loads, or want to dial compression and rebound in to suit the day.

Not sure which you are looking at? The MRA has three adjuster knobs on it. The MRR has none.

Fitted by mechanics, not just bolted on.

MyTuff4x4 is backed by MB Mechanical Repairs, a full mechanical workshop in Warwick Farm, in the trade since 2011. When we fit a lift kit we look at the whole vehicle, not just the springs and shocks: the CV angles, ball joints, bushes and steering that a lift puts extra strain on. If something is worn, or won’t suit the height you’re after, we tell you before you find out on the track.

Fitting a full kit typically runs $750–$950 in labour. On LandCruisers and Patrols that need the adjustable arms or caster correction bushes as well, it can go up to $1,150. A wheel alignment afterwards is $120, and on a lifted vehicle it isn’t optional.

A Dobinsons MRR 2″ lift kit for the Nissan Patrol GU ute with coil springs at the front and leaf springs at the rear (Y61, 1997 on). Raised coils at the front, raised leaf springs at the rear and MRR remote reservoir shocks at all four corners.

The MRR shocks move the oil out into a remote canister connected by a hose. More oil to work with and more surface area to shed heat, so the damping holds up on a long stretch of corrugations instead of fading. Set and forget — there is nothing to adjust.

Dobinsons list the raised height as 30-60mm at the front, depending on your engine and the coil, and 40-50mm at the rear, depending on the leaf spring. Those are guide figures only.

Greasable shackles and pins, a steering stabiliser, castor correction bushes and sway bar extensions can be added from the options above.

Worth knowing before you buy

This kit is for the GU ute with leaf springs at the rear. GU wagons and the coil-rear utes use our coil/coil Patrol kits instead. Not sure which you have? Call us and we will tell you.

Castor: raising the front changes the castor angle. Dobinsons recommend a wheel alignment to see whether castor correction bushes are needed, and we can add them from the options above.

Pick the rear spring for the load you actually carry all the time, not the odd heavy trip. A spring that is too stiff for the load rides hard and empty.
